A Residence on Ring Road
THE BRIEF
The client wanted a home that felt calm without feeling empty. A 3BHK apartment on Ring Road, lived in by a family of four, with a brief that kept returning to one word: restful.
We heard the brief as a request for warmth without clutter. The palette was decided in the first concept meeting — walnut, warm whites, and a single accent wall in lime plaster that catches the morning light from the east-facing balcony.
THE WORK
LIVING ROOM · MORNING LIGHT · WALNUT, LIME PLASTER
The walnut was chosen because the morning light at the east window angle wants warmth, not contrast. We tested it against three other woods. The lime plaster on the opposite wall changed our mind about the colour twice.
PRIMARY BEDROOM · EVENING LIGHT
KITCHEN · WALNUT ISLAND, BRASS HARDWARE
The kitchen island was designed around how the family actually cooks — South Indian breakfast on weekdays, elaborate dinners on weekends. The counter height and storage were planned for both rhythms.
DINING AREA · TERRAZZO FLOORING, PENDANT LIGHT
